Can I find out who’s left me a tip?
Tipping with EasyTip is designed to be fast, secure, and hassle-free for both customers and staff. We understand that service workers often appreciate knowing who has left them a tip, whether for gratitude, recognition, or simply to say thank you in person. However, we also respect customer privacy and ensure that the tipping process remains anonymous unless the customer chooses to share their details. Our system is built to protect user information while still allowing some optional ways to identify tipping customers.
How Can I Identify a Tipping Customer?
Although EasyTip does not automatically display customer names, there are a few ways staff members may get an idea of who left them a tip:
- Transaction History in the EasyTip Dashboard
- Staff members can log in to their EasyTip account and check the "Tips" section on the first page.
- Each transaction includes the date, time, and amount of the tip received.
- If the tip was left shortly after serving a specific customer, this may help staff identify the individual based on the timing.
- Customer-Provided Name in Feedback
- When tipping, customers have the option to leave a name in the feedback or review section.
- If a customer chooses to include their name, staff will be able to see it along with their review.
- Patterns in Tipping Amounts
- In cases where regular customers tip consistently, staff may recognize familiar tipping patterns based on the amount or frequency of tips.
Why Is Customer Privacy Important?
EasyTip is designed to ensure that customers feel comfortable tipping digitally, without concerns about sharing personal details. Many prefer to remain anonymous, and our system respects that by not requiring names or contact information.
At the same time, we understand that staff may wish to express their gratitude or build a stronger connection with returning customers. That’s why we provide an option for customers to leave their names if they choose. This balance between anonymity and optional identification ensures that tipping remains a positive experience for both customers and service staff.
